Some variations exist and a survey of the many examples reveals several manifestations in terms of the detail and naturalism present, as well as the number of earrings worn. One common form combines multi-tiered levels of cloth tapering back and up from the front combined with a wide band of thin cloth running across the forehead and wrapped around the back of the head above the nape;13 in some examples, the band is adorned with rosettes in the manner of Cypriote diadems.
